Meet Annette Mason

Unit Director for 3-5th Grade

Meet Annette Mason, Unit Director for 3-5th grade, who plays a pivotal role in the successful management of Club operations and programs for the Senior wing.


Annette began with us in 2012 when she first joined our staff part-time. Over the years, she has become a vital part of the team and in 2022 made the decision to take on a full-time role. Annette is an alumna of East Carolina University, holding a BA in Applied Science.


Before joining the Boys & Girls Club, Annette brought a wealth of experience as a teacher's assistant and bus driver with Cabarrus County Schools for an impressive 12 years. Her passion for education and mentorship was further demonstrated through her 20 years of volunteer coaching in the Club's cheerleading, basketball, and volleyball programs.

Annette’s role today oversees and plans the Game Room and Activity Room activities, and her expertise extends to behavioral management and discipline for the grade levels she works with. In addition to her Unit Director obligations, she drives three bus routes for the Club and facilitates intramural competitions such as ping pong, beachball volleyball, pool, and more encouraging some friendly competition among the Club members. She also oversees our Club’s Student Council and Robotics Club.


Annette works to keep students active in MyFuture, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's student platform. Through MyFuture, students can submit their work for BGCA contests and activities, fostering a sense of creativity and achievement.
